The Aurora Arts Theatre announces open auditions for their community theatre production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, directed by Bryan Davis and choreographed by Angela Borrego. Auditions will be held Tuesday, July 26, and Wednesday, July 27, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Aurora Arts Theatre (5635 Everhart Road). You may choose to attend one or both nights of auditions. This production will run from September 23-October 31, 2011.

All roles are available (please see below for more information). For this audition, please be prepared to perform readings from the script, a choreographed dance (which you will learn on-site), and selections from the following songs (from the show): Late Night Double Feature and Rose Tint My World (Floorshow).

Kody Brown and his four wives — the stars of the reality TV show “Sister Wives” — will soon be the subjects of another real-life drama, this one at the federal court in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Browns plan to challenge the state’s anti-bigamy statute Wednesday, when attorney Jonathan Turley files a complaint on behalf of the family’s fight for the rights of “plural families.”

“There are tens of thousands of plural families in Utah and other states. We are one of those families,” Kody Brown said in a statement posted on Turley’s website Tuesday. “We only wish to live our private lives according our beliefs.”

“Sister Wives” is a TLC program about the polygamous Browns and their 16 children. Read the rest of article…

Organizers of the Virgin Mobile Freefest have announced the lineup for the annual concert that’s held at Merriweather Post Pavilion.

Cee Lo Green, one of the coaches from the hit NBC show “The Voice,” will headline the show, along with the Black Keys, Patti Smith and TV on the Radio.

Others on the bill include Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, DJ Deadmau5 and James Murphy, the frontman of the 2010 headliner LCD Soundsystem.

Okkervil River, Big Sean, Two Door Cinema Club, Alberta Cross, Bombay Bicycle Club, Calvin Harris, Ghostland Observatory, Porter, Eclectic Method and Teddybears will also perform.

Shawnee-born movie star Brad Pitt is narrating an opening segment for Major League Baseball’s 82nd All-Star Game, airing at 7 tonight on Fox.

The Oscar-nominated actor will celebrate baseball stars from the past and present in the segment, according to a news release.

Pitt, 47, stars as former baseball player and current Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane in the upcoming film “Moneyball,” due in theaters Sept. 23. The movie is based on the influential nonfiction book by Michael Lewis.
