We’re pretty sure that Mitzi Gaynor has finished washing that man right outta her hair by now, but she’s going to show up next week in Ojai and relive all the glory that was “South Pacific” anyway.

Gaynor and the 1958 film will jump-start next week’s Ojai Film Festival, and why not? Gaynor’s memorable turn as Ensign Nellie Forbush is her signature role, one in which she had the chops to sing “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair,” among other things.

A newly restored version of “South Pacific” will be the opening night film at the 12th annual festival, which begins Thursday and runs through Oct.

Local musical group Oden Young recently had an instrumental track — “India Beat-Raga Remix” from their first extended play (EP) album, “Electro World” — nominated in the world music category for the 2011 Hollywood Music in Media Awards to be held Nov. 17 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.

The father-sons trio, based in Yuba City, writes songs in several styles — including (but not limited to) alt-pop, alt-rock, electronica, hip-hop, reggae and world — for film, TV and instrumental music providers such as Muzak.
