While their busy careers often have country music power couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert moving in different directions, they will be in the same city Friday morning. The Tishomingo newlyweds will light up the airwaves in New York City, where they will perform Friday on rival national morning news shows.
Shelton, fresh off his stint on the peacock network’s hit reality TV show “The Voice,” will play Friday on NBC’s “Today” show, which airs from 7 to 11 a.m. on KFOR-4 in Oklahoma City. The Ada native is set to play his platinum-selling chart-topper “Honey Bee” and new single “God Gave Me You” as part of the “Today” Toyota Summer Concert Series at the plaza at Rockefeller Center.
Both songs are from his eighth studio album, “Red River Blue,” which will be released on Tuesday.
On Friday morning, Lambert will be playing Rumsey Playfield in Central Park for ABC’s “Good Morning America” Summer Concert Series. “GMA” airs from 7 to 9 a.m. on KOCO-5 in Oklahoma City.
She will be joined by Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, with whom she recently started the all-girl trio Pistol Annies. The group will perform their hot debut single “Hell on Heels,” which they released last week on iTunes and other digital retailers.
